But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor’ and ‘Hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even Gentiles do the same? . . .
I love those who love me, and those who seek me early shall find me.
And love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.
Then Peter began to speak: “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism, but welcomes those from every nation who fear Him and do what is right.

There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that run swiftly to evil, a false witness who gives false testimony, and one who stirs up discord among brothers.
And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love; whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be restrained; where there is knowledge, it will be dismissed.
And may the Lord cause you to increase and overflow with love for one another and for everyone else, just as our love for you overflows,
When Jesus had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may glorify You. For You granted Him authority over all people, so that He may give eternal life to all those You have given Him. Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent. I have glorified You on earth by accomplishing the work You gave Me to do. And we have this commandment from Him: Whoever loves God must love his brother as well.

I speak the truth in Christ; I am not lying, as confirmed by my conscience in the Holy Spirit. I have deep sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my own flesh and blood, the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory and the covenants; theirs the giving of the law, the temple worship, and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them proceeds the human descent of Christ, who is God over all, forever worthy of praise! Amen. . . .
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Outdo yourselves in honoring one another.
This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.
Whoever belongs to God hears the words of God. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”
What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may increase? Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer? Or aren’t you aware that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? By this we know what love is: Jesus laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.

Love must be sincere. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good.
You must not follow the statutes of the nations I am driving out before you. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them.
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in the loving devotion of God forever and ever.
