Idle hands make one poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.

What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?

The wealth of the rich man is his fortified city, but poverty is the ruin of the poor.
Listen, my beloved brothers: Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom He promised those who love Him? But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who oppress you and drag you into court?

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves.
The plans of the diligent bring plenty, as surely as haste leads to poverty.

Oppressing the poor to enrich oneself or giving gifts to the rich will surely lead to poverty.
And the King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’
Redeem me from the oppression of man, that I may keep Your precepts.
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.
