If it is possible on your part, live at peace with everyone.

We love because He first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And we have this commandment from Him: Whoever loves God must love his brother as well.

A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also must love one another.

Pursue peace with everyone, as well as holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.

An offended brother is harder to win than a fortified city, and disputes are like the bars of a castle.

So if you need to settle everyday matters, do you appoint as judges those of no standing in the church? I say this to your shame. The prudent see danger and take cover, but the simple keep going and suffer the consequences.

This is the vision concerning Judah and Jerusalem that Isaiah son of Amoz saw during the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah. Listen, O heavens, and give ear, O earth, for the LORD has spoken: “I have raised children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against Me. The ox knows its owner, and the donkey its master’s manger, but Israel does not know; My people do not understand.”

This is the revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants what must soon come to pass. He made it known by sending His angel to His servant John,

For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.

This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.

Now about brotherly love, you do not need anyone to write to you, because you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another.

Finally, brothers, rejoice! Aim for perfect harmony, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

and with diligence to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

Now for the matters you wrote about: It is good to abstain from sexual relations. But because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife. Do not deprive each other, except by mutual consent and for a time, so you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again, so that Satan will not tempt you through your lack of self-control. . . .

As good stewards of the manifold grace of God, each of you should use whatever gift he has received to serve one another.

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with one another and forgive any complaint you may have against someone else. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Which of you, wishing to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost to see if he has the resources to complete it?

So if you have not been faithful with worldly wealth, who will entrust you with true riches?

If your brother sins against you, go and confront him privately. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.

Love must be sincere. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Outdo yourselves in honoring one another. Do not let your zeal subside; keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, persistent in prayer. Share with the saints who are in need. And this is His commandment: that we should believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and we should love one another just as He commanded us.

Since you have purified your souls by obedience to the truth so that you have a genuine love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from a pure heart.

Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. And if you judge the law, you are not a practitioner of the law, but a judge of it.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail.

Do not complain about one another, brothers, so that you will not be judged. Look, the Judge is standing at the door!

Hear the word that the LORD speaks to you, O house of Israel. This is what the LORD says: “Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by the signs in the heavens, though the nations themselves are terrified by them. For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut down a tree from the forest; it is shaped with a chisel by the hands of a craftsman. They adorn it with silver and gold and fasten it with hammer and nails, so that it will not totter. Like scarecrows in a cucumber patch, their idols cannot speak. By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

so in Christ we who are many are one body, and each member belongs to one another.

if it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach;

Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on his opinions. For one person has faith to eat all things, while another, who is weak, eats only vegetables. The one who eats everything must not belittle the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted him. Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person regards a certain day above the others, while someone else considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. . . .

Now may the God who gives endurance and encouragement grant you harmony with one another in Christ Jesus,

Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good character.”

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring glory to God.

And now I urge you, dear lady—not as a new commandment to you, but one we have had from the beginning—that we love one another.

Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying one another.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Take notice: I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all.

See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God, and that no root of bitterness springs up to cause trouble and defile many.

But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peace-loving, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap the fruit of righteousness.

Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
